South America has been hot on the wine map for a couple of years now and Uruguay is making a stunning entrance as a wine-making country, specializing in the full-bodied Tannat grape that pairs so perfectly with bbq meat from the parilla.

Spirit offers a choice of three different tours new for this season plus the traditional wineries tour Uruguay.

Gourmet Winery Tour

At 0930 your guide, a professional sommelier will collect you at your hotel for the drive to the best winery outside Montevideo where you will enjoy a special gourmet lunch prepared by the owner/chef himself. Wines will be specially chosen to pair with the food from the private collection. The tour returns to your hotel at 1500

BBQ Winery Tour

What better than red wine and meat?

We pick you up at your Montevideo or Punta del Este hotel at 0930 for the visit to the top winery including a tour and tasting. We then continue to the famous Mercado, where you will enjoy a traditional Uruguayan BBQ. A selection of meats form the special menu created for us that are paired with delicious Uruguayan wine and more from the sommelier’s private collection. The tour ends with return to your hotel approximately 1500

;Wine and cheese Tour

The sommelier will pick you up at your hotel at 0930, or the ferry terminal for the hour drive to Canelones. This is a very personal day where the winery tour will be given by the owner himself. There will be a very generous tasting of various varietals accompanied by cheese, bread and meats. This tour lasts approximately 4 1/2 hours.

Traditional Wine Tour Montevideo

We pick you up at your hotel at 0900 for the drive outside the city of Montevideo to the Canelones wine region. Your guide is a professional sommelier and will guide you in the tasting of at least 10 different wines – especially the famous tannat grape. Our tours are led by the owners and oenologists themselves, making for a very personal and in-depth experience. This tour lasts approximately 4 1/2 hours.
